Something's lost but something's gained in the living every day
i really dont know them at all...

feeling hot and cold
i'm enjoying every bits of this old and tattered book. if you are interested on philosophy but know nuts about it, i'd say this is a great book to begin with.
and this song has been on a loop for a couple of weeks now. that pretty much sums up the 'facade' that i portray haha! (okay, mrs cold is acting cold again.. this time nursing pimples in her rabbit hole boohoo )

take everyday as a practice
tmr marks a new start and everyone is already feeling the jitters. hopes and fears always accompany us. that's the inevitable fact when we can't eschew. so just like what my fav singer Cheer Chen sings "take everyday as a practice. to use present in exchange with the past. to use tomorrow in exchange for what was lost" (loosely translated), don't take life too hard as we still have sooo much to learn :)

Singapore Biennale 2011 (in biased fashion II)
the flooded mac
changing facades of thailand
a massive collection of local newspapers, everywhere !!
somewhere in the old kallang airport lays a forsaken shutterbug's paradise. feel like a child letting loose in the wilderness amongst concrete jungle
even the toastbox looked incredibly adorable
but we missed the merlion hotel! damn!
in retrospect, i personally prefer the second event which had works that were more impactful and could easily resonate with the audiences (esp to novice like me). but biennale never fails to inspire me and bringing us to places which we could hardly gain access to.
few days back, i came across an article that had pple complaining about the inaccessibility and the stifling heat in kallang airport.. yes it was warm but couldn't we be a little appreciative when it's not easy to have a place that can hold so many artworks across the world ?

Singapore Biennale 2011 (in biased fashion I)
singapore biennale is THE art event that i look forward every two years. both S and i were completely awed by the installation arts featured in 2008, and we even wanted to volunteer for the third biennale event (then again we had no time).
sadly, it was not held on the supposed year 2010, and i secretly pondered if it was the withering economy, the diminishing art scene, the low support from local crowds... nevertheless, to my great relief, sg biennale finally arrived presenting a new theme "open house". to WX, here are some of the works that i really like to introduce to you...
just so happens that my fav work comes from a local artist Michael Lee (whom i've coincidentally mentioned in my past entry ). his work features the architectural practices from a local legendary architect called KS Wong.
Wong's works resemble childlike fantasies, both ludicrous and whimsical.
this design was inspired by the incompleteness of a disfigured war victim
doesn't this look like spongebob ??
and this is called god's villa.
you may be now wondering how on earth would you not know about such an insane bizarre local maverick, or you may be now googling but to no avail.. this was exactly what i did when i reached home only to realize that KS Wong is a frictional persona.
you are what you eat. having what sorts of food you store in the fridge represents not only your biology but also in the forms of social status.
the scribblings of our ever nonsensical and ironical lives
drawings on book pages that left very interesting notes
