singapore biennale is THE art event that i look forward every two years. both S and i were completely awed by the installation arts featured in 2008, and we even wanted to volunteer for the third biennale event (then again we had no time).
sadly, it was not held on the supposed year 2010, and i secretly pondered if it was the withering economy, the diminishing art scene, the low support from local crowds... nevertheless, to my great relief, sg biennale finally arrived presenting a new theme "open house". to WX, here are some of the works that i really like to introduce to you...
just so happens that my fav work comes from a local artist Michael Lee (whom i've coincidentally mentioned in my past entry ). his work features the architectural practices from a local legendary architect called KS Wong.
Wong's works resemble childlike fantasies, both ludicrous and whimsical.
this design was inspired by the incompleteness of a disfigured war victim
doesn't this look like spongebob ??
and this is called god's villa.
you may be now wondering how on earth would you not know about such an insane bizarre local maverick, or you may be now googling but to no avail.. this was exactly what i did when i reached home only to realize that KS Wong is a frictional persona.
you are what you eat. having what sorts of food you store in the fridge represents not only your biology but also in the forms of social status.
the scribblings of our ever nonsensical and ironical lives
drawings on book pages that left very interesting notes
